I have way too much to do... *sigh* And I'm procrastinating again. So my LJ has a new layout. Again. Yeah, so I get bored easily. :p

Recently we've talked about the idea of "disgust" in Anthropology, and today I found the Disgust Scale, which takes the concept much further than we discussed. I'm still reading/skimming through the associated papers; it's quite interesting. And apparently I'm less easily disgusted than the average American man. O_o But sometimes I'd think, "Oh my god! I'M SORRY!" rather than, "Eww!" (like with the cremation ashes, and the worm).

But then taking into account that it's an American survey and disgust is very much culturally specific.

viciousdisorder suggested an Australian variation: "You can eat Vegemite knowing it is fermented yeast." Cause eww, I'd fail that one! ^^;;

And I should be doing readings for my essay... *cry* I tried that this morning and got distracted by a different paper on Chinese cinema instead! ^^;;
