I'm a nerd
Oct. 29th, 2003 09:28 pmI just realised what a dork I am.
Ruth and I were talking about her presentation, where she talked about Merleau-Ponty and the idea that we are all living in a social sphere, so if someone does something unexpected, it jars our perception of the way things should be... or something along those lines. But to demonstrate this unexpectedness in her presentation she got up and stood on the table. Now, Ruth is a middle-aged woman, and the fact that she stood on the table in the middle of giving her presentation certainly got her point across.
We then talked about other unexpected things she could have done. Spontaneously combust for instance. I told her it'd be perfect. That would demonstrate Sartre's idea of nihilating oneself. Literally.
The fact that we were laughing about that comment made me realise what a dork I am. "Oh my god, I'm laughing about a comment on existential phenomenology. Anyone else hearing this would not understand it at all." I feel like such a nerd.
Wah! That girl in my Anthropology class is so gorgeous!! I found out today that she used to be a goth, plus she has her tongue pierced and a butterfly tattoo on her hip (it looks really cool). So not only is she absolutely gorgeous looking, she's also a really, really cool chick. And have I mentioned how low and sexy her voice is?
Right, will shut up; I know how annoying it is to listen to other people gush about their crushes.
On the other hand, if you want to see some really cute guys at uni, hang around outside the library at lunchtime, cause it's a big meeting place for international students, so there's usually plenty of hot Asian guys around there. Which is of course the reason for Yudi and I deciding to meet people infront of the library. So she can keep a look out for cute Indian guys, and I can perve on the Chinese and Japanese guys. ^_^
