May. 30th, 2003 03:56 pmWell, today was interesting. Had to hurry to uni to hand in my assignment and then head straight to the city to meet Chris and a bunch of people from Creative Writing. The usual lot turned up. Virginia, Tsubasa, Walter, Saul, Melissa and me. All those who are fully into our Creative Writing course. All the expected ones. ^_^
Virginia ended up coming late. [grin] She originally came to the Museum early but no one was there so she went all the way to the Art Gallery in case she was in the wrong place. No one was there either, of course, so she rushed BACK to the Museum and ended up coming late.
Virginia: And today's my birthday too! What a way to begin the day!
Tsubasa: And the day's barely started. (This was just after 11am)
The best part of the morning was when Walter turned to me and said, "your Snow Queen was getting a workout this morning. It was so cold..."
For class I had written a story about the Snow Queen, and it seems to have affected everyone in the class.
Chris put in, "you see, you create an image and forever after that, everytime someone sees frost, ice or snow, they are going to remember your story about the Snow Queen."
That made my day. I mean, I knew my writing is emotional, but THAT good? I have to confess, when I wrote that story I set out to tear people's hearts out. I wanted to reach into their chests and squeeze their hearts so that they would never forget I had been there. Now, I know I always succeed in what I set out to do, but in all honesty, I NEVER dreamed I would have quite that much of an effect on the people in my class. @_@
We were there to look at the stories in the objects in the museum (long story).
I got a little lost. Again. Of course. What else would you expect from me? I just kept going higher and higher, every staircase I came to I took upwards. I don't know why I do this, but it seems like I have a natural drive to find the highest point in any building I'm in. -_-;;
Then I got lost infront of a window for about half an hour. Trust me to find the thing that catches my attention isn't actually and object IN the museum like everyone else. Noooo... it had to be a forth floor window overlooking Hyde Park.
But it gave me the most amazing ideas looking out that window, so I just had to write down everything that came to mind. I don't think I quite stuck to what we were supposed to be doing, as usual, but it was amazing in itself to just sit there and dream.
At least I got back to the group in time. Walter got lost and came back 20 minutes late. Heh.
